Tree Collection

Trees are wonderful, not only do they replenish our oxygen but they provide cover from enemy fire, make great hiding places for sappers and hidden units, and enhance a game’s visual appeal. For the last six months, I have been collecting, painting, and creating copious amounts of trees. One can get them from eBay rather cheaply (especially z scale, they go great with 1/300 scale games like Battletech and micro armor). One can also create their own with some relatively inexpressive components—I have done both. I also don’t work on all of them at once. I tend to do a dozen or so at a time in-between projects or when projects are drying after a wash. I feel that not only do I not get bored doing a lot at once, but that by only doing only a few at a time, it makes my trees look different and creates variety from batch to batch. So take a look at a few of the samples I posted and let me know what you think. Be sure to click on the photos to make them larger and to see the detail.

  1. You have a great site here.

Trees, you can never have enough. I've got 30 finished, 20 mostly finished (some drybrushing to be done) and 20 being worked on. It never fails to surprise how few they look when I put them on the boards for a game.

Planning on having more trees that herds of Wildebeest on the plains of the Serengeti.
